6 September 2020
We can all relate to the dilemma of not having enough places for everyone coming to dinner, but not wanting to give up space all year round just for a few celebrations annually. Enter the extending table. There was a time where an extending table was a clunky after-thought, but now designs have evolved and are miles more stylish and functional. We’ve curated a list of our top five that we think are perfect.

The Eliot Keramik Drive Table by Cattelan Italia is bold and stylish, with a choice of beautiful ceramic table tops backed with smoked grey glass, and features a metal centrepiece base which will create quite the talking point.
Also with a sculptural base, the Artistico Table by Bontempi Casa has a stunning curved metal design with ceramic extendable table top options, offering all the room and style you'll need for an elegant soirée.

The Delta Table by Calligaris is elegant and sophisticated, with an art deco inspired frame, and a tabletop available in ceramic, ceramic marble or glass. The extendable option has been very well considered as the frame features an assisted opening mechanism that allows the legs to remain at the corners of the table.
The Millenium Round Table by Bontempi Casa in glass is an innovative and unique design, with its round extendable tabletop and central lacquered wood butterfly extensions supported by an industrial angled steel frame.
Last but not least, for a contemporary minimalist look, the Eminence Wood Table by Connubia Calligaris features a laminated wood top with a contrasting wood frame. This understated design gives all the functionality you need and allows show-stopping centrepieces to take centre stage.

The Breccia finish is glossy and smooth, replicating a marble like texture and pattern. The natural stone look gives this a timeless feel and will bring a sense of regality to your decor. The Skorpio Keramic Table is available in this finish for an elegant compliment to the table's sculptural base.

The Arenal finish has a matt textured feel which highlights and showcases the stone feel. The grey stone pattern with touches of orange has inflections and imperfections that are signature for this finish, and introducing this into your space will give it a modern twist. The Stratos Keramic Table is available with this finish and it compliments well the confident cross-design base.

The Zefiro finish has a smooth glossy feel, and brings to mind old flint masonry walls but with a luxe twist. This traditional pattern has been updated and brought into a more contemporary style, harnessing the beauty of agate crystal. Zefiro is available on a selection of console and coffee tables including the Terminal Console Table - an effortless way to add glamour to an entranceway.

Convenience is key at home, so having the right side table in any setting is important when you find it becomes your resting spot not just for beverages, but for your phone, a book, even the remote controls.
For the ultimate sophistication, the Sting Side Table by Cattelan Italia in stylish ceramic will offer just enough room to place drinks on as a single table, but as a cluster they nest together giving you various levels of space for a variety of items.

Or if you want to maintain the feel but have a bit more table space, the Yago Side Table by Cattelan Italia gives you a larger surface area to place things on, and the curved arc frame means you can place them directly over your seat for satisfying convenience.

If height is a challenge within the space you’re working in, then the Step Side Table by Cattelan Italia is a brilliant solution. Available in either a square or circular top, the tables extend in height to suit a range of scenarios. Or for something a little more structured, take the Millenium Side Table by Bontempi Casa, its angular base and circular top provides a contemporary solution for any space.
Finally, for a touch of drama and elegance to a room, we suggest the Planet Side Table by Bontempi Casa, its tubular tripod frame and raised edge can give you all the style you need, whilst providing timeless practicality.

Smoke and Mirrors
21 August 2020
When looking at a room, it’s often a great idea to consider a mirror to help enhance the style and texture of your interiors. It may seem like a strange consideration, but the right mirror can really enhance wall space and add even more style to your room design.
Take the Taxedo Mirror from Cattelan Italia; it comes in a variety of sizes, and the frame can be covered in synthetic or soft leather. Its sophisticated design will lend itself to many rooms, but we think the larger rectangular size would look great as a full length mirror in the bedroom.

If you want to really embrace the drama, then we recommend the Pleasure Mirror by Calligaris for its smoke grey mirrored frame option. Whilst you can opt for the mirrored effect, the smoke grey adds that bit of intrigue and depth to your design.
If you want to opt for something a bit more unconventional, then why not try different shapes? The Surface Mirror by Calligaris has an elegant curved frame and can be hung vertically or horizontally depending on the wall area you want to fill. The rounded or oval shapes can draw the eye and offer a break to the straight lines in an interior. If you really want to ‘break the box’ of a room, the Hawaii Mirror by Cattelan Italia has a striking pebble-inspired design and is available in a variety of sizes, giving you the option to select just one for a focal feature, or combine several to create a mirrored masterpiece. The mirror comes with a bevelled frame, and a wall bracket for fixing in different positions which allows even more flexibility when hanging and placing.

The shape of a mirror can really push or pull focus, and we think the Emerald Mirror by Cattelan Italia can do both. With an angular frame which is available in mirrored smoke grey, it not only stands out as a key feature on any wall, but it also compliments and flows with the visual lines of a room. So whether your mirror is there to stand out, or sit quietly, make sure you consider the beauty of a smoke grey frame for added depth and design.
