Foscarini Lighting - New Releases
7 March 2020
At Euroluce 2019 Foscarini launched new products set to a backdrop designed by architect Ferruccio Laviani. The new range is dramatic and contemporary, ranging from large colourful floor lamps to modern classic table lamps. The collection is stylish and versatile, adding a touch of interest even when not in use.

The Tobia is a contemporary feature floor lamp. It features a sculptural loop design and is available in a range of coated metal colours, projecting light upwards from its top end for a stylish showpiece.
The sleek Palomar offers two different types of lighting, with separate controls: intense light aimed at the ceiling, and a softer light sent downward, spreading through the cylinders that form the base of the lamp.

The Madre table lamp is a handcrafted modern light with a twist. Madre's etched glass surface softly diffuses light, but features a circular opening from which a bolder spot of light is glimpsed. This opening also frames the vase element of the light - a cylindrical inner compartment perfect for dried flowers and greenery.
The Beep is a contemporary wall light which projects a diffused glow onto the wall behind. The 360° rotation of its base allows almost endless adjustment in the direction and quantity of light.
Accenting With Porada's Latest Releases
5 February 2020
Neutral colour schemes are something we turn to time and again, but with too much of this good thing there can be potential to render a space dull. A simple way to avoid this is by adding accent pieces to a room, something to stand out and draw attention without being overpowering. This can be done through an accent wall, abstract lighting or unusual pieces of furniture - and not all accent pieces need to be big or bright.
The Porada Jelly Side Table is a whimsical design with fun at its heart. Spoke-style metal legs and a solid wood pole support a cast glass top topped with a central metal disc. It's available in a choice of shape, metals, glass and wood finishes for a bespoke look. Perhaps use a finish to complement an accent wall, then add a cushion or two to match.

Unique pieces such as the Porada Quadrifoglio coffee table offer another way to add style to a room. The Quadrifoglio features a round-cornered clear glass top in a choice of square or rectangular. The table top is boldly supported by solid wood legs to each corner, available in a range of finishes with stylish brushed brass top-plates and feet. Fill the room with matching wooden tones and an accent colour of your choice; Quadrifoglio could look great against Pantone's colour of the year 2020; Classic Blue.
Or for the entertainer in all of us, add a bar cabinet. Accent pieces don’t have to just look good, they can also be functional. Porada's Mary bar cabinet will be a talking piece in any space made for entertaining. A stylish two-section cylindrical design with curved doors and brushed brass highlights, the upper section features an ice glass window detail and opens to reveal angular wooden shelves, a rechargeable LED light and a brushed brass metal back wall. The lower section features brushed brass cutaway door handles and an angular wooden shelf for further storage. We feel this piece would work particularly well in a space with large armchairs to sink into, a contemporary coffee table and a cosy rug. Bliss!

The Millerighe console is structured from slatted solid ash, curved round to create a table and finished with a handy transparent glass shelf. The angled sides further accentuate the contemporary look of this piece. Available in a variety of wood finishes, this is a perfect update piece for a hall or living room.
The Tube dining table is a striking design featuring a centre-piece base of solid wood tubes on a shaped metal frame, supporting a glass top. Available in several shapes and sizes with a choice of finishes for the wood base.

The Oblo mirror offers timeless simplicity. Available in two sizes this mirror is perfect for creating a wall display when grouped with multiple others. Its versatility makes it an easy stylish addition, offered in a choice of finishes to complement many a colour scheme.
The bold Kali coat stand is a smart hallway piece for practicality and a confident welcome upon entrance to your home. Offered in a variety of different finishes, Kali is freestanding and is weighted by its solid wood structure, making it very stable.
Pacini & Cappellini always seem mindful of refined design and attention to detail. A key feature seems to be the desire to give objects simplicity, without neglecting the design and singularity of each piece - and in doing so, these amplify their surrounding environment.
Calligaris rugs
27 December 2019
As it starts to get colder in these winter months, keep your feet warm with the new Calligaris rugs. Straying from the stereotypically plain rugs that fill many homes, these rugs ooze contemporary style with their varying carved textures, patterns and multiple colours. Our favourites here at Lime Modern Living are the Cementino Rug, the Luso Rug (both currently in our showroom) and the Terrazzo Rug.
The Cementino features a gorgeous neutral selection of grey-beiges in varied textures. The bold geometric pattern distinguishes this piece from the others, creates depth and adds style to any space.

The Luso features a stunning beige, petrol blue and mustard yellow colour palette with an asymmetrical raised pattern in two corners. This rug is the epitome of minimalism with a splash of colour to add warmth to a room.
The Terrazzo is arguably the most on trend of the three. Originating in Italy over 500 years ago and traditionally sold as flooring, terrazzo was popular in the 1970s and has recently made a comeback. Its display of speckled colour is visually appealing and versatile, blending effortlessly with modern day homes. The Terrazzo rug featuring a warm brown colour scheme is perfect for an industrial themed space.
