The diverse and beautiful qualities of wood appear to be timeless as it continues to dominate many 2015 design ranges. The spectrum of styles- from sleek solid walnut alongside Glass or Chrome to rustically elegant oak along side treated metals and Polypropylene -are almost endless. This year wood is still timeless in it's popularity and is being paired with Clear Glass, Treated Metals and even Ceramic by Italian design brand Calligaris.

Soon to be released, the anticipated Calligaris 2015 collection is almost here and introduces some stunning new pieces in wood and a few favourites with a new wooden twist. The hugely popular Jam range is being given a new look with the addition of a wooden base for both Chair and Bar Stool. Similarly, the Sami range will be including a Bar Stool, also with these unique and contemporary wooden legs. The addition of a Planked Oak finish enhances further existing ranges, including the popular Baron Table. The new Cartesio and Status Tables combine new Wood finishes for the top with treated metal bases for a contemporary style with a rustic edge. The new Calligaris 2015 Collection will be here soon, so keep watching for these beautiful new ranges and much more!

At Lime we are thrilled to be joined by award winning, contemporary furniture brand Bonaldo. Since 1936 Bonaldo have been designing and making unique and stylish furniture and have been an internationally renown brand since their first stunning Salone del Mobile appearance in 1971. Injecting an energy and vibrancy into elegant and sleek contemporary styling, Bonaldo are most known for their iconic Big Table design. Using a wide range of quality materials and finishes including Glass, Solid Wood, Leather and Ceramic the Bonaldo range spans from dining and living spaces to Sofas and Beds. Their collections are a collaboration of contemporary style, versatility and covering an expansive range of finishes and sizes.

The Iconic Bonaldo Big Table has a stunning silhouette which plays cleverly with proportions and angles. The feature base is available in a range of finishes and the top is available in Lacquered Wood, Solid Wood, Veneered Wood, Glass or Ceramic. The award winning Octa Table has a striking Steel Rod frame, interwoven to create an eye catching base. The top is also in a wide range of finishes and the Octa is available in rectangular, Round or Extending versions. The new Tracks Table is an extendable design which injects energy and light into a space. The colour range of the feature 'tracks' include Anthracite, White, Blue and Saffron Yellow, with the top in Clear Glass. The popular Bonaldo Filly Chair range contains a wide selection of styles, with High back, Carver and Barstool. The beautiful tapered legs are available in matching upholstery or in a striking metal 'hairpin' style and the range of colours is considerable. The Loto W is an elegant Polypropylene chair with a curvaceous shell and Wooden legs.The legs incorporate feature frame in Metal in White, Anthracite or Chrome. Along side neutral and monochrome colours, Bonaldo have a wide range of brighter colours in their designs. The new, award winning April, May and June shelving range is available in eleven different colours, each one transforming it's style, making these amazingly versatile.

The little things can make all the difference to a space and accessories can be used to optimise and emphasise. Good lighting is an important accessory, it can be used for highlighting items in the room, attracting attention to particular spaces and areas and with the added bonus that the light source itself is a stunning work of art. Contemporary lamps can double up as beautiful ornamentation combining attractive contours and striking materials to create designs that combine brilliant functionality with fun and creative form. At Lime we are proud to introduce the Contardi brand, with their exquisite Italian style and large, versatile rang of contemporary lighting. Using materials including Bronze, Nickel and Chrome alongside sumptuous fabrics and glass finishes including Chromed and Bronzed Glass, the collection has a design for every room. The range also includes outdoor lighting and bathroom lighting, that radiates the same stunning Italian elegance. 

Contradi Table lamps include the popular Quadra range, which has a choice of Cotton, Oper or Linen shades with bases of Chrome or Satin Btronze. This extensive range also contains wall lighting, floor lamps and bathroom lighting for all over style. The Contardi Shapes table lamps are a trio of abstract shapes with Shantung or Oper material over a metal frame, creating an elegant, softer light and ornamental style. The Agata lamp has stunning contours of Gold Leaf on an angled stem and round base, an eye catching lamp that can also be used for it's visual decoration. For a more striking effect the Agata is also available in a breathtaking Floor lamp. Contardi Floor lamps include the Divina, with a sqaure Chrome base paired with a  round Black, Cream or White fabric shade. The versatile Davina range also includes Table and Wall lighting to mix and match together to unify rooms and themes. The Beautiful Oops lamp has a Wooden base with a fun cantilever effect and adjustable shade drop. The split effect shade casts a brighter, yet glowing light. The Contardi brand has also created eye catching statement lighting. The outstanding Kubric is available in clusters of five or ten spheres of shining Chromed Glass with Gold lining and the Messalina chandelier has five chalices of Chromed or Bronzed Glass mounted onto an adjustable wood and matching metal frame. The  Contardi Muse range uses lantern styling to amazing effect with both indoor and outdoor lamps using dianond shaped frames with top mounted handles. The Freedom range uses a metal birdcage with perching metal bird atop of the dome, the white diffuser creating a bright glow, also for indoor and outdoor use. Calligaris News at Milan 2015

Calligaris News

The Calligaris stand at Milan was a stunning amalgam of textures and colour, with some new additions to favourites and some bright and impressive new designs. I bring you here a taste of some of the trends, materials and designs that will be coming to you in the months to come. 

The sumptuous new fabric and textile designs introduced this year add a new texture and warmth to contemporary style. Amongst the new collections are a striking group of rugs within the Code range, incorporating colour and pattern. The Apotema Rug has a striking geometric pattern in blue on a grey background, the Gava rug introduces some zoomorphic subjects in muted tones, the Rose rug combines geometric shapes and muted colours to create an abstract flowering pattern and the Nadina uses strips of bold colours with Middle Eastern patterns. Calligaris also introduce their Throw range of complimenting throws using bold geometric patterns and some brighter colours and the strong patterns continue with the beautiful Damasco Mirror. Soft furnishings have had an injection mixing colours and fabrics, with the introduction of the Urban Mix sofa and Lazy Mix Chair. With these designs you can choose different fabrics for the main body to the cushioning to create unique colour combinations.

The Calligaris dining range also has a range of new designs, materials and styling. Warm and softer wood finishes are strong this year and many of the new designs reflect this. The Calligaris Jam Chair and stool have been released with wooden frames and new colours with gorgeous results. The new Tosca formal dining chair has squared wooden legs with a Leather finish seat and back and includes a seam detailing across the width of the back. The new Sipario sideboard includes many wood finishes in it’s clean and understated design and the Boston bedroom furniture range is also in various wood finishes, for clean and un fussy contemporary style in wood. There is a rustic contemporary style introduced with the Cartesio Table which includes a rustic effect metal frame, in a striking contemporary shape, and an Oak top. The Status is also available with a rustic effect metal frame, but also in a rust effect coated metal with similar exquisite Oak top. This year Calligaris introduce a rustic, softer feel is being introduced with woods and distressed effect metals.

The finishes are not all rustic, with the slick and strong Ceramic being added to even more designs, including the ever popular Calligaris Mag Sideboard. Ceramic also is introduced into the Echo and Orbital Table ranges.
